            Summary: CrossCopy is designed with privacy first. Your transfers stay on your local network, are encrypted end-to-end, and we collect minimal anonymous analytics that you can disable.
        

Information We Collect

CrossCopy collects minimal information to improve the app:

Anonymous Usage Analytics: We use TelemetryDeck to collect anonymous, aggregated usage data such as app launches, feature usage, and error rates. This data cannot identify you personally.
No Personal Data: We do not collect names, email addresses, device identifiers, or any content you transfer.
No Transfer Content: The text, images, and files you send between devices are never transmitted to our servers.

How Your Data Stays Private

Local Network Only: All transfers happen directly between your devices over your local Wi-Fi network using Apple's MultipeerConnectivity framework.
End-to-End Encryption: Transfers are encrypted using industry-standard CryptoKit (X25519 key exchange and AES-GCM encryption). Only your paired devices can decrypt the content.
No Cloud Storage: Your transferred content is never uploaded to any cloud service or server.
No Account Required: CrossCopy works without creating an account or signing in.

Analytics Opt-Out

You can completely disable analytics at any time:

Open CrossCopy
Go to Settings
Toggle off "Send Anonymous Analytics"

When disabled, no usage data is collected or transmitted.

Third-Party Services

TelemetryDeck: We use TelemetryDeck for anonymous analytics. TelemetryDeck is privacy-focused and does not use cookies, does not track users across apps, and does not sell data. Learn more at telemetrydeck.com/privacy.

Data Retention

Transfer History: Received content is stored locally on your device. You can delete items from your Inbox at any time.
Analytics Data: Anonymous analytics are retained for up to 24 months to identify trends and improve the app.

Children's Privacy

CrossCopy is rated 4+ and does not knowingly collect any personal information from children. The app contains no user accounts, social features, or advertising.
