Frequently Asked Questions
How do I pair two devices?
- Open CrossCopy on both devices
- On Device A, go to the Devices tab and tap the QR code icon
- On Device B, tap Scan QR Code and point the camera at Device A's screen
- Once scanned, the devices will automatically connect
Why can't my devices find each other?
Make sure both devices:
- Are connected to the same Wi-Fi network
- Have Wi-Fi and Bluetooth enabled
- Have granted CrossCopy Local Network permission (check Settings → Privacy → Local Network)
Is my data secure?
Yes! CrossCopy uses end-to-end encryption for all transfers. Your content:
- Never leaves your local network
- Is encrypted with industry-standard AES-GCM encryption
- Is never uploaded to any cloud server
What content types can I transfer?
- Text and rich text
- Images (PNG, JPEG, HEIC)
- URLs and web links
- Files and documents
How do I disable analytics?
- Open CrossCopy
- Go to Settings
- Toggle off "Send Anonymous Analytics"
The app is asking for camera permission. Why?
Camera access is only used for scanning QR codes when pairing devices. CrossCopy never takes photos or accesses your photo library without your explicit action.
How do I delete received content?
- Go to the Inbox tab
- Swipe left on any item to reveal the delete option
- Tap Delete to remove it
You can also tap Clear All to remove all items.
System Requirements
- iOS: 16.0 or later
- macOS: 13.0 or later
- Wi-Fi and/or Bluetooth enabled
- Devices on the same local network for best performance
